LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - UNIQUE PROPERTIES & HOTELS AROUND THE GLOBE

One of the best things about traveling is sharing your experiences with friends and family. Choosing the best options for lodging can be mind boggling and so challenging - especially if you haven’t been to the area. The following are a few of our favorite properties and places to stay in Peru, Italy, Mexico, and Utah. We chose these based on unique design, service, price, and scale. Join us at one of these properties during our expeditions or visit on you own. You won’t be disappointed.

LET’S START ON THE BANKS OF Lake Como, ITALY - CASA SULL ALBERO

CASA SULL ALBERO

CASA SULL ALBERO

This “tree house” is nestled on prime lakefront property on Lake Como. It’s discreetly hidden off a small drive and you would easily pass by without notice. The property boasts an outdoor fire pit, pool, lakeside dining, a private spa, and local art throughout. You can enjoy views from every room in the hotel. Guest rooms are well appointed with great bedding, linens, and local Italian finery. The only useless item in each room is a television….. can you imagine watching TV on Lake Como? The meals are outstanding, there is an “honor” bar and the staff treat you like family.

We are staying here for a few nights this spring during our Italy Expedition. Check out the Casa Sull Albero site here.

NEXT LETS VISIT HOTEL Punta Caliza, ISLA HOLBOX MEXICO

HOTEL PUNTA CALIZA, HOLBOX MEXICO

HOTEL PUNTA CALIZA, HOLBOX MEXICO

We were the second people to check into this hotel on the day it opened and we were blown away. There was a bit of concern as no local drivers knew of this hotel when we arrived on the Island. Our worries disappeared immediately as we were greeted by the family and their whippet, Astro. The family moved from Guadalajara to pursue the hospitality industry and they made it happen without apparent flaw. You’ll be greeted with a mezcal, shown around the property and your room. Each room has a private pool that connects to the larger common area pool. You’ll most likely skip the pool and head straight to the beach to hang out with the flamingoes just meters away. ANYTHING we could have every asked for was handled with precision, detail and timely.

We’ll be occupying the entire property for a little expedition in Feb, 2020. Until then check out the website

IN SOUTHERN UTAH WE GO FOR PRIVATE HOMES

There is only one hotel we recommend in Southern Utah and its the Amangiri - You’ll be blown away and that’s all we’ll say for now. The property is far from all the National Parks and sought after places in Utah so it’s not on the list…. you must check it out though. AMANGIRI

It may not surprise you that lodging options are bleak in Southern Utah. We like a little bit more than the comforts of a Raddison or La Quinta. Private homes are really the best option homes are way too big and often have on suite bathrooms, pools, and daily cleaning service. Homes typically have better views than the hotel alternatives. We choose to stay in couple townhomes just outside the city. You really feel at home and it’s perfect for relaxing after a day of outdoor activity. Email us directly for the agents information

FROM SOUTHERN UTAH TO South America. BELOND HOTEL MONASTERIO, CUSCO PERU

BELMOND HOTEL MONASTERIO, CUSCO PERU

BELMOND HOTEL MONASTERIO, CUSCO PERU

Imagine walking into a perfectly maintained Spanish Colonial Monastery. Don’t be fooled by the simple facade and street-front wall. The welcoming staff will know your name before you have a chance to introduce yourself. Two lush courtyards are surrounded by rooms that were used by past monks. The rooms are on the smaller side and they are perfect. Oxygen is pumped into each room to help you acclimate to the high elevation. Meals are as impressive as the hotels aesthetic. The chapel is the only chapel in Peru you can take photos in (as its not used for service) and it’s covered in gold! This hotel oozes effortless luxury. Do not visit Peru without staying at the Belmond Hotel Monasterio.
